Stockholm is the center of cultural, economic, political and gay life in Sweden, and the biggest City in Scandinavia.

The Vasa Museum displays the only intact 17th-century ship, the Vasa that sank on her first voyage.

Skansen is a combined open-air museum which shows the way of life in Sweden before the modern era.

ABBA Museum is a permanent exhibition about the world famous Swedish group, for some glitter seventies fun.

The atmosphere of Stockholm is very gay-friendly and relaxed.

There is no gay district in Stockholm particularly, and you’ll find gay-friendly bars and clubs all over the city.

The biggest gay event in Sweden and Scandinavia is Stockholm’s Gay pride, which takes place every year in July-August. the party attracts participants from all the country and an increasing number of gay travelers.

Some of the Swedish most notable attractions are right on Stockholm’s doorstep.

A UNESCO world heritage site, Drottningholm Palace and its beautiful park, are just a few kilometers from the city center. It can be reached by boat. The palace is the residence of the Swedish Royal Family.

Birka, another UNESCO World Heritage, 30 kilometers from Stockholm is one of Sweden’s oldest towns. The site was an important trading post during Viking times. It can be reached by boat too.

Exciting museums, lovely walks in the city, gay bars and trendy restaurants, Stockholm is a perfect destination for a cultural or festive weekend, traveling alone, with friends or with your beloved one.

Finally, Stockholm is a strategical position to visit Scandinavia, as it is only a few hours trip by car or train, to enjoy fascinating and gay-friendly Swedish cities such as Malmo, and to explore the fantastic countryside and breathtaking landscapes.

Stockholm has train connections to Oslo and Copenhagen, and regular ferry lines to Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius or Saint-Petersburg. Or even a flight to Iceland.
