Gay Alicante

Alicante will surely be your gateway if you are planning your holidays in the amazing Costa Blanca.

It offers an exceptionally mild and sunny climate in winter, and summers that often turn incredibly hot.

The City center is compact, and getting around is easy as most of the sights are contained in a small area.

You can easily explore walking by your own or with a friendly local to show you around.

You will first explore the old city, the Barrio de la Santa-Cruz,

and its charming narrow pedestrian streets, old Arabic buildings, impressive baroque churches and heaps of trendy shops.

The Cathedral of San Nicolas and The Basilica of Santa Maria, built on the remains of a mosque, should not be missed.

Regarding museums, you will admire the great paintings at the Modern Arts Museum, with essential works by Dali and Picasso, the world known Spanish painters.

The Archeological museum is another option to spend half a day, in pleasant surroundings, admiring marble statues, with full aircon when days get too hot.

The last spot would be the Medieval Castle of Santa Barbara, which is a massive Arabic fortress that dominates the city and from where you can have a fantastic view on the old city, and all the surroundings.

Another great place to visit is the Art Nouveau central market.
